Employment contracts

We support full-time, part-time, fixed-term, and contractor arrangements consistent with Egyptian Labour Law, clearly defining role, salary, social insurance, leave entitlements, probation, end-of-service benefits and termination terms.

Background checks

We help you run proper checks so you don’t have to hope for the best. Comprehensive screening aligns with Egyptian employment standards and regulatory requirements.

Equipment provisioning

We make employee onboarding effortless by managing all equipment provisioning. We also have ties with multiple co-working spaces to boost employee productivity.

Salary structuring

Our EOR in Egypt helps structure salary into base and allowances in line with local practice (gross-up if required), and ensures correct calculations for social insurance and other statutory contributions. Employer social insurance contributions are material and must be accounted for in total cost-to-company.

Taxes

Egypt levies income tax on salaries (progressive personal tax rates) and employers must remit social insurance contributions. We manage payroll tax filings, social insurance returns, and statutory reporting.

Payouts

We process monthly payroll by the 5th of each month as required by Egyptian law. All payments include proper documentation and comply with the minimum wage requirements of EGP 7,000 for private sector employees.

Social insurance

We manage filings, monthly contributions, and compliance. Typical contribution structure (subject to yearly cap adjustments): employer share ~18.75%, employee share ~11% of insurable wages; the social insurance wage base has statutory minimum and maximum caps that are adjusted periodically.

Sickness benefits

The Social Insurance Law (Law 148/2019) and Labor Law No. 12 provide that sickness benefits are 75% of the insured wage for the first 90 days, increasing to 85% for the next 90 days, with a maximum of 180 days per year.

Egypt Labour Law coverage

We maintain full compliance with Egyptian labor regulations, including overtime calculations (35% premium for work beyond 8 hours), social security contributions, and mandatory reporting requirements. Our team stays current with evolving regulations and specialized labor court requirements launching in 2025.

Worker classification & penalties

Misclassification or failure to register employees for social insurance can trigger fines, back-payments of social insurance and payroll contributions, and other sanctions. We help you ensure proper classification, employment contracts, payroll registration, and social insurance enrollment.

Annual leaves

Under Egypt’s New Labour Law (No. 14 of 2025), effective 1 Sept 2025, annual leave is 15 working days in the first year, 21 days from the second year, 30 days for employees with 10+ years’ service or aged 50+. We can help you manage leave accrual and tracking as per local rules.

Sick leave

Employees are entitled to sick leave once every three years: three months on full pay, six months on 85% pay, and three months on 75% pay. Leave is granted only if a medical authority confirms recovery is likely. Employers must pay wages during sick leave after deducting the share covered by the Social Insurance Authority.

Maternity leave

As per the New Labour Law, maternity leave is extended to 120 calendar days (four months), an increase from the previous 90 days. This entitlement applies regardless of length of service and may be taken up to three times during a female employee’s career.

Notice period

Egyptian Labour Law requires prior written notice for ordinary termination; under the new labour law, a 3-month notice period applies to all employees regardless of years of service.

Severance & final payouts

Under Egyptian rules and recent legislative clarifications, employees dismissed without cause or in redundancies are eligible for end-of-service benefits calculated as per law (1-2 months for each year of service based on the type of employment contract, whether fixed or indefinite contract). We calculate final pay, accrued leave, end-of-service benefit, and social insurance settlements accurately and execute timely closures.
