Employment Contracts

We support full-time and part-time, contract agreements permitted under UAE law, including terms for start and end dates, job role, work location, remuneration, working hours, and other entitlements.

Background checks

We can offer screening services such as identity verification, employment history,  education checks, reference check, and criminal record check by the police on request of the employee (employers cannot conduct these tests)in compliance with UAE regulations, where applicable and permitted.

Salary structuring

We set up salaries to include base pay, allowances, contributions for eligible employees (citizens and employees from GCC countries), and statutory entitlements such as gratuity and holiday pay. Overtime is paid at the employee’s normal salary, plus a premium depending on the time/day the overtime is carried out, except for certain categories of employees, such as supervisors.

Taxes

There is no personal income tax in the UAE. Employers contribute 17.5% to social security for eligible UAE nationals; employees contribute 5%.

Payouts

Employees are paid in AED, with payroll cycles aligned to UAE Wage Protection System requirements. Payslips, bank transfer letters, and gratuity calculations are included.

Social security

In the UAE, employers must make social security contributions for eligible employees. These are calculated as a percentage of the employee’s gross monthly salary at 12.5%. 

Employees with UAE citizenship are entitled to join the federal employment scheme.

We support both full-time and part-time contracts, reduce the risk of misclassification, and ensure terms meet legal requirements.

Fair employment practices

UAE laws prohibit discrimination based on religion, caste, race, ethnic origin, gender, or disability, and mandate equal pay for women, amongst many other obligations.

Annual leaves

Employees with 6 months to 1 year of service are entitled to two days of leave for each month worked. After completing one year, they are entitled to 30 days of annual leave.

Sick leave

The first 15 days are fully paid, the next 30 days are paid at half salary, and the remaining 45 days are unpaid. No sick leave applies during the probation period.

Maternity Leaves

60 calendar days (First 45 days being fully paid and the remaining 15 days are half paid), plus up to a further 45 continuous or intermittent calendar days due to an illness affecting the employee or her child resulting from pregnancy or childbirth, subject to the provision of a medical certificate.

Parental Leave

Five working days for the employee, whether male or female

Bereavement leave

Five days for the death of an employee’s spouse, or three days for the death of an employee’s parent, sibling, grandchild, or grandparent, starting from the date of the death.

Study leave

10 working days per year, provided the employee is affiliated with, or regularly studying in, one of the educational institutions approved in the state, to sit exams, provided that the employee has at least two years’ service

Notice periods

The minimum notice period is 30 days and the maximum is 90 days, unless both parties agree to payment in lieu of notice.

Probation periods

Probation can be up to a maximum of six months. During this period, either party can end the contract without a notice period.

Severance

Eligible employees receive an end-of-service gratuity based on their length of service and final basic salary. We can assist with gratuity calculations, benefits settlement, and closing employment records in compliance with local requirements.
