Background checks

DBS checks may be required for regulated roles, along with reference checks for education, employment history, and criminal records where possible.

Salary structuring

We can help you structure gross salaries based on employment contract type and role in line with UK laws. Packages are designed to meet or exceed National Minimum Wage thresholds and align with HMRC guidance in all cases.

Taxes

We can help you handle all of the mandatory employer burden payments in the form of Tax PAYE, National Insurance so that you don’t have to.

Payouts

Employees are paid monthly in GBP. We issue digital payslips, deduct and report all statutory contributions, so the employment relationship stays compliant with Real Time Information (RTI) requirements.

payroll 3

Public pension (Workplace Pension)

Eligible employees are enrolled in a qualifying workplace pension scheme as per auto-enrollment laws, with employer contributions, opt-outs, and reporting managed accordingly. This is a mandatory benefit in the UK; therefore, understanding the requirements is very important.

Bonuses

Bonuses aren’t mandated. They’re discretionary and vary by sector or seniority, more common in industries like tech, media, and engineering, or for roles like directors and senior managers.

Variable Compensation

Much like bonuses, variable compensation, such as commission, is not mandated; however, they are common in many industries and can help in securing the best candidate for the role.

Medical Benefits

Such benefits are common in the UK and can be accommodated along with other benefits under our platform.

statutory benefits

Employment Rights Act compliance

All employment and contractor contracts must meet the standards set by the Employment Rights Act 1996 and various legal provisions. All contracts are compliant and cover terms such as salary, working hours, redundancy pay, notice periods, and disciplinary processes where appropriate.

Wages & working hours

Employees can’t be required to work more than 48 hours a week, averaged over 17 weeks, unless they decide to opt out of the Working Time Directive 1999. The minimum wage range varies and changes each year. The ranges depend on age, with many employers voluntarily following Living Wage guidelines, which change each year.

Anti-discrimination & employee rights

UK laws provide protections for employees across all areas of the employment relationship, from hiring, pay, promotions, training, and terminations, covering age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, and disability. These laws are very difficult to navigate and need to be managed very carefully

compliance 2

Annual leaves

Employees get a minimum of 5.6 weeks (28 days) of paid holiday per year, along with public holidays. This is based on an employee working a 5-day week.

Sick leave

Eligible employees receive a minimum of £118.75 per week for up to 28 weeks under the government Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) provisions. Extended sick pay may apply if included in employment contracts.

Maternity leave

Eligible employees have the right to take up to 52 weeks of maternity leave. Such leave is split into 26 weeks of ordinary leave and 26 weeks of additional leave. Salary is paid during the eligible part of this leave period. However, the employee is still entitled to all the same rights they would have had if they were in work. These rights include variable payments, vacation, promotions, etc. Failure to adhere to the very specific laws could result in litigation.

leave policies

Employee-initiated termination

Employees can resign at any time, with notice periods defined by law or contract. During probation, notice periods can be as short as one week. As the employees are employees of our entities, we manage the heavy HR lift.

Employer-initiated termination

There are only a few specific reasons under which the employer can terminate the employment of an employee. Failure to follow the laws will result in costly litigation. Any reason for termination must be followed by a robust and fair process. Processes can be long, but they need to be correct in order for any litigation risk to be mitigated and the correct outcome achieved.

All dismissals must be supported by written, documented evidence along with clear indications of a fair process being followed. Terminations are then further supported by clear written reasons for termination filed in line with the law.

Yes. With Payoneer Workforce Management, we will employ the team directly on our platform to work directly for the customer’s business. This will take away the customer’s need to set up their own entity and incorporate costly infrastructure into their business, such as HR, compliance, etc

How fast can I onboard an employee in the UK?Once employment contracts are signed and documents are in, onboarding typically takes 3–5 working days.

An EOR is not a term commonly used in the UK; however, the concept means that the legal employer of record, in this case Payoneer Workforce Management, is the legal employer of the individual placed to work in the customer business. The EOR is responsible for handling employment contracts, payroll, taxes, and compliance, so the EOR can hire full-time employees in the UK without the customer setting up a local entity.

Payoneer Workforce Management and its solution are compliant in the UK. The key is to use an EOR solution that prides itself on compliance within the business. A trusted EOR helps manage employment contracts, payroll, benefits, and termination processes in line with UK regulations

Yes. The Payoneer Workforce Management helps design locally compliant benefits packages, including all mandatory leave entitlements, so you stay competitive whilst the relationship with the individual remains compliant.

Our EOR pricing starts at $249/month per employee. Contractor management starts at $19/month.
